The title for my blog came from my experiences working on my Masters Degree in the Pepperdine University OMAET program. The thirteen months I spent in the program were possibly the best months of my life – given that I still have a few years left on earth I’ll wait to make that statement definitive at this point . . . during that program, primarily in an online environment, I made four of the best friends I have ever had, Joe, Mix, Henry, and Sis. During our online classes we would also fire up AIM and carry on a peripheral conversation about class that broadened and deepened the learning experience for us – we called ourselves “the back row” . . . so when I decided to start blogging it only made sense to draw on that energy and present my blog as a view from the back row. . .
As a teacher I often experienced some of the best answers and most insightful comments from the students who chose to sit in the back row . . . it isn’t a place for slackers as much as it’s a place for the ones who really think outside of the box . . . and aren’t afraid to live in that space . . .
So, here it is . . . my view from the back row of life . . . my thoughts on education can be found at Constructing Meaning . . .
